BTS apologized for wearing the t-shirt with an a-bombing image and N*zi symbol hat.

(T/N: The agency apologized, not BTS.)

The agency sent their apologies to both Korea and Japan Atomic Bombs Victim Association and the associations said they would communicate with the BTS side about this issue.

BTS Jimin who was directly involved with the t-shirt controversy expressed his feelings during the Tokyo Dome concert.

“I believe many people around the world are surprised and concerned due to many circumstances. It breaks my heart.”

The agency offered apologies through the official statement. “Big Hit is adamantly against any activities of war or the use of atomic weapons. We would like to offer our sincere apologies for inadvertently inflicting pain on anyone affected by the use of atomic weapons and to anyone who may have experienced distress and discomfort by witnessing the association of our artists with imagery related to atomic bombings.”

The agency visited Japan Atomic Bombs Victim Association and delivered an apology.

[Staff of Japan Atomic Bombs Victim Association]

“Since it is a matter of freedom of expression and so on, it is not something we need to get mad at, we told the agency that we want to let people know about a-bomb correctly and continue our conversation with the agency.”

Big Hit is planning to visit and apologize to Korea Atomic Bombs Victim Association and explain the background as well.

The controversy that led to the cancellation of Japanese TV show is gradually dying down as the Japan tour began.

Japanese media outlets that criticized BTS also reported the heat from the Tokyo Dome concert.

This is the place where an anti-Korea one-man protest occured on the first day of concert. The protest is gone in one day, there is no vibe of anti-Korea.

The agency stated that they also sent a letter of apology to the Jewish human right center in the US.

In Korea, there are opinions that the apology was a mature way to deal the situation, while the opposite side claims that they embraced Japanese right wing’s claim too early.

While, NHK released cast list of <Kōhaku Uta Gassen>, BTS is excluded and TWICE is confirmed.

In case you translate and see angry comments under this article (why BH visited Japan first), don’t mind them, people didn’t know it was actually the Korea assoc request to meet them on Nov 16th. The MBC reporter confirmed it later with K-ARMY.
